Is there an application deadline?
No. We have OPEN ENROLLMENT. However, to ensure placement in class, you want to apply early and complete the enrollment packet when enrollment opens in January.
My child will not turn 3, 4, or 5 until after the September 1st cutoff. Can I still apply for him/her to attend school for their prospective grade?
No. St. George Catholic School adheres to the September 1st cutoff for incoming pre-kindergartners and kindergartners, per our accreditation guidelines with the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department. Therefore, a child must be 3 years old for PK3, 4 years old for PK4, & 5 years old for Kindergarten.
My pre-kindergarten or kindergarten applicant has a summer birthday. Will you accept his/her application?
As long as your child will be 3, 4, or 5 by the September 1st cutoff, he or she is welcome to apply. All birth certificates will be verified prior to acceptance.
How many students are in each class?
There is one homeroom at each grade level. On average, there are approximately 12 students per class.
School Hours?
For pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, school begins at 7:40 am and ends at 3:15 pm.
What time do I drop off my student before school?
Students may be dropped off as early as 7:15 am in the gym parking lot.
What time do I pick up my student after school?
Student pickup us from 3:15 pm - 3:30 pm.
Do you have before and/or after school programs?
We do not have a before school program.
Our Extended Care program begins right after school and ends at 6:00 pm. Program fees apply for Extended Care.
How does St. George Catholic School score on Standardized Testing?
Standardized tests results are used as a diagnostic tool for the purpose of implementing curriculum to meet the needs of the students. Each year the parents are given the results for their own child/children.
Where do 8th grade students attend school once they are promoted?
Many of our students enroll in the following high schools: Nolan Catholic,
Cristo Rey or Cassata Catholic.
